Account & Data

Delete Your Account & Data

You can request deletion of your Zippy account and associated personal data at any time, whether or not you still have the app installed.

Deleting your account removes your profile, saved recipients, and app preferences. Some information may be retained for a limited period afterward where we are legally required to — see What we keep, and why below.

Step 1

How to Request Deletion

Send an email to our Data Protection Officer from the email address registered to your Zippy account, with the subject line "Account Deletion Request." Please include:

  • Your full name as registered on your Zippy account
  • The email address or phone number linked to your account
  • Your Zippy payment ID or username, if known

We verify every request against the identity on file before taking action, to make sure no one else can delete your account on your behalf.

Step 2

What Happens Next

  • We acknowledge your request and verify your identity.
  • We process the deletion without undue delay and, in any event, within one month of receiving your request — this may extend by up to two further months for complex requests, in which case we'll explain why.
  • Your account is closed: pending transactions are settled, and any remaining balance is handled in accordance with our Terms & Conditions before closure.
  • There is no fee for this request.
Step 3

What We Delete, and What We Keep

Deleted right away: your profile information, saved recipients, device push-notification tokens, and any biometric templates or liveness data used only for login (these are not required to be retained once your account is closed).

Retained for a limited period: identity-verification (KYC) records, government ID document data, and transaction history are retained for up to seven (7) years after your account closes. This is not optional — it's required under anti-money-laundering recordkeeping laws (including the U.S. Bank Secrecy Act and equivalent laws in other jurisdictions we operate in). During this period, this data is restricted from active use and is not used for any purpose other than legal and regulatory compliance.

If your account is connected to a dispute, investigation, or legal hold, related data is kept only for as long as that matter requires.
